Two bass boat fishing tournaments open to the public will happen at Walborn Reservoir in 2023.

Open to the public bass boat tournament. $60/boat individual or partnered (cash only). 75% payout.
Will pay out 1st ($450), 2nd ($225), and 3rd ($75) places. Big Bass ($200). Remaining 25% goes to the Stark Parks Ranger Explorer Program.
*Based on 20 boat entry.
Registration begins at 6 a.m. with fishing from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Walborn Reservoir. No advance online registration required.
Ranger Bass Tournament
May 6, 2023, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Enjoy time on the water at Walborn Reservoir at this bass boat tournament. 30 boat limit at $60 boat (individual or partnered). Five (5) bass limit: largemouth or smallmouth. All state and local laws apply.
Registration runs from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. with fishing from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and weigh in at 3 p.m. Cash prizes to follow.
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Stark Parks Ranger Explorer Program. Participation will help the next generation of law enforcement leaders gain the skills, tools, and knowledge to be successful in the field of law enforcement.
Rules and Regulations
- Largemouth and smallmouth bass only (15" minimum per state law)
- 10HP limit per state law (larger motors can be used to un-trailer and trailer boat, electric motor only during competition)
- Five (5) fish limit per team
- Total weight determines money winners. Ties are broken by largest fish in the limit between tied competitors
- Courtesy rules apply. No fishing within 75' of another competitor
- All fish are to be caught in a conventional manner, hooked within the mouth, no foul hooked fish count
- Any dead fish brought to scale will not be counted for weight, catch and release preferred
- Failure to arrive back by 3 PM is automatic disqualification
- Any competitor found to be violating the rules or acting in a conduct unbecoming the profession will be disqualified from the event
