Be a Stark Parks Ranger for a Day!

Calling all Junior Rangers! Come see what it is like to be a Ranger for a Day on Sept. 24, 2022 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Tam O’Shanter Park. This free event is a great way for kids and families to meet our Park Rangers and learn about the important tasks they perform!

Children (geared for elementary ages) will have the opportunity to collect useful items to help them be a better Ranger at various stations around the park. Try on ballistic vests, climb in Ranger vehicles, take a shot at the shooting range and archery range, try to be the fastest in the obstacle course and get rewarded with your very own Ranger Badge. The Berkley Fishing Team will be on hand to teach fishing skills in the pond. All activities will be from 1-4pm. At 4pm everyone is invited to watch K-9 Ranger Gunnar in action as he demonstrates his skills.

Activities include:

  • Safety stations
  • Trying on ballistic vests
  • Climbing in Ranger vehicles
  • Taking a shot in our shooting and archery ranges
  • Testing their skills on our obstacle course
  • Fishing skills with equipment provided
  • Attending the a K-9 demonstration by Ranger Gunnar at 4 p.m.
