Creature Spotted at Sippo Lake Park…April 1 Program to Investigate Local Wildlife

Is it a bird? Is it a fish? Much like the mystery that surrounds Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster of Scotland, a creature may have been spotted in the waters of Sippo Lake! Do photos lie? Photos of what appear to be a massive tail and long neck have surfaced, but could there be another explanation?

mysterious object in lakeHas curiosity gotten the better of you? Do you want to know if it’s real or just an April Fools’ Day hoax? Can Ohio’s ecology even sustain such a being? Come out to the Exploration Gateway at Sippo Lake on Monday, April 1 to inspect the unknown with Stark Parks! Beginning at 6 p.m., we’ll reveal fact from fiction, and investigate the wildlife that actually call the surrounding land and water home. You’ll meet live animals, explore their habitats, and if you’re lucky, catch a glimpse of the elusive Sippo Lake Monster that some have nicknamed, “Sippie.”

Visitors and spectators are welcome to explore Sippo Lake Park and keep an eye on the lake anytime on April 1.  Cameras, binoculars, or cell phones are recommended, but not required.

The Exploration Gateway is located at Sippo Lake North, 5712 12th St. NW in Canton.  A dock and shoreline also provide great views of Sippo Lake located in the east entrance at 5300 Tyner St. Canton 44708.
