NatureWorks Grant Application to Improve Restrooms at Petros Lake Park

Woodland Shelter at Petros Lake Park

Stark Parks is hoping to improve restroom facilities at Petros Lake Park through an ODNR NatureWorks grant.  Two ADA accessible family restroom stalls with flush toilets, a changing station, and running water would be added to the park at 3519 Perry Dr. SW in Perry Twp.  The grant request amount will be $125,000.

According to recent Five Year Plan feedback and comments from recent picnic shelter reservations, improved restrooms with running water is a desired amenity from park visitors and event participants.  The 127 acre park includes a stocked 12 acre lake, hiking trails, picnic shelters, and the award-winning Mindfulness Walk with ten mental health stations.  Several events including fishing derbies, Family Fall Fest, concerts, and various guided hikes happen at the park each year.

Public comments about the proposed grant can be sent to information “at” starkparks.com by May 20, 2021.
