Trash to Treasure Contest
Another person's trash could be your ticket to a winning project! Join Stark Parks, Goodwill, Stark-Tuscarawas-Wayne Recycling District, and Habitat for Humanity ReStore Canton for our annual upcycle contest in celebration of America Recycles Day! We’re looking for the most unique project themed around a bluebird box made entirely of recycled items.
Submissions and Rules for Entry
- Project must be an Eastern Bluebird Box in size and function with reusable materials from Habitat for Humanity ReStore-Canton, Goodwill, or your local recycling center!
- Project can be an embellished box or the box itself can be constructed from reusable materials.
- Project should be able to be hung on a display hook with three sides of viewability.
- Artists will retain ownership of their project after the contest.
- Entry is limited to one per person, with the exception of class projects. Anyone entering with a class may also enter under another category with a different project.
1. Submissions will be accepted Sept. 3 to Oct. 21.
2. Finalist photos selected and posted on Facebook on Oct. 30
3. Finalist project dropped off by Nov. 8
4. Winners Selected and Announced Via Facebook on Nov. 15
5. Awards Reception (open to public). Projects will be on display through Nov. 30.

Grades K-4, 5-8, 9-12, and Adult (18+)
Class Project/Club (Classroom setting with at least two students working together). Award to the classroom teacher or advisor.
