2023 Fishing Derbies for Kids

Derby Circuit-Spring and Summer 2023
Kids (Ages 4-15) can join the 2023 derby circuit with a chance to fish for prizes at five derbies held through the spring and summer. Sponsored by Stark County Federation of Conservation Clubs, Berkley Fishing Team, and Stark Parks. Attendance at each derby will earn one entry into a drawing to win a cash prize from the Berkley Fishing Team. (Drawing held in August after the final derby)
One free fishing pole will be given to each child participating in a derby throughout the circuit by the Stark County Federation of Conservation Clubs while supplies last. Prizes and trophies are awarded at each derby for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in various age groups.
The popular Jack Cullen Towpath Trail Trout Derby will kick off the fishing derby circuit for kids ages 4-15 at a new location on April 29, 2023. The annual derby, held for over 50 years, will move one mile north to St. Helena Heritage Park in Canal Fulton and feature improved parking and more fishing access along the Ohio & Erie Canal.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with fishing at 8 a.m. for all derbies. Snacks, beverages, and bait will be for sale.
