Towpath to Totality Event to Celebrate Solar Eclipse in Canal Fulton
A total solar eclipse will be visiting northeast Ohio and parts of Stark County on April 8, 2024. A total solar eclipse occurs when the moon completely obscures our view of the sun. Totality will last for approximately 2 minutes in northern Stark County. The 115 mile-wide-band in Ohio will offer Stark County this experience from 3:14 to 3:16 p.m. in the southwest sky when the moon casts its shadow on the Earth as it passes between the Earth and the Sun. During totality, the sky becomes dark and some bright stars and several planets appear, and wildlife will even behave as if the sun is setting for the day.
