Stark Parks worked with the City of Canton on a 25-year development and management agreement for the future park. Once a sewer treatment area, the City of Canton remediated and naturalized the property years ago. The property features rolling hills with elevated views of the surrounding area, several ponds, and various wildlife habitats. Soon you will be able to discover elevation and views of the surrounding hills and valleys in southern Stark County that you may not believe unless you see them firsthand on this 520-acre property in Pike Twp.
Guided hikes will be available to experience Stark Parks’ newest property. This guided hike will cover about 2.5 miles of the tranquil countryside, showcasing rolling terrain, ponds, and elevated views of open grasslands. The flora, fauna, and special history will show why this land was selected as part of our county parks’ system. Be prepared for uneven terrain and steep hills that are not conducive to strollers, and be sure to bring plenty of water.
