Friends of Stark Parks Trustees

Interested in joining the Friends of Stark Parks Board of Trustees as a volunteer?  Please contact us for a copy of the Trustee Application, and a Friends of Stark Parks Board member will reach out with additional information.  A background check will also be required.

Expect a 4 hour a month minimum time commitment, including once a month meetings and possible committee meetings.  

Meet the Trustees

W

William Regula, President

Will is the Financial Systems Coordinator at Aultman Health Foundation. He is actively involved with Friends of Stark Parks because he wants to be a part of helping support and promote parks for everyone to enjoy. You’ll most likely find Will enjoying the Towpath Trail and the nature and history along the Ohio & Erie Canal.

Katie Tolin, Vice-President

Katie is the founder CPA Growth Guides. Katie believes that Friends of Stark Parks helps complete a visit to Stark Parks through amenities at the Wildlife Conservation Center, park benches along trails, and water trail drop-ins and take-outs. She contributes her time and efforts knowing that they make a difference that can truly impact a park visitor.

Jake Boron, Secretary

Jake is a Strategic Planner at Aultcare. He believes the parks are one of Stark County's best resources and brings his business management and strategic planning skills to the board to promote, protect, and improve the parks for the community. Jake enjoys running on the Middle Branch, Hoover, and Pioneer Trails.

Sarah Scheid, Treasurer

Sarah is a Staff Accountant with Campbell Oil Company/Bellstores. She wants to educate more people on how great the park system is and recruit more members to Friends of Stark Parks. Expect to find her at Sippo Lake Park either on the trails or volunteering at parkrun every Saturday.

Lindy Anastis, Trustee

Lindy is retired from the Canton City School District. She brings a commitment of time and energy to support projects that everyone can enjoy throughout Stark Parks. She visits many parks locations for hiking and running for enjoyment and race training, with her most frequent locations being Sippo Lake Park, Petros Lake Park, and the Towpath Trail.

O

Oliver Cornet, Trustee

Oliver works as a Financial Advisor for Stifel in Canton, OH. Oliver strongly believes that living a life "outdoors" is essential to both mental and physical health and values the mission of Stark Parks to make that available to the community. You can find Oliver and his family hiking at Tam O' Shanter, Quail Hollow, or Sippo Lake Park.

Jonathan Herman, Trustee

Jonathan is an Architect with Diebold Nixdorf. Jonathan volunteers to share his skills and talent to the community by bringing over 15 years of experience in education, technology, and architectural design. He enjoys family hiking trips to Quail Hollow Park, the Wildlife Conservation Center and Sippo Lake Park.

Mary James, Trustee

Mary James is a Project Manager at the Timken Company. She believes that it is important to have safe, clean areas for nature exploration in the community and Stark Parks offers so many places and ways to do that for all ages. Mary likes volunteering for events including parkrun and Summer Serenades concerts.

Stephen Kamph, Trustee

Stephen is a Compensation Analyst at Akron Children‘s Hospital. He has been volunteering with Stark Parks for years and greatly enjoys being a part of the Friends of Stark Parks. Stephen likes spending time on the southernmost portion of the Towpath Trail.

Cody Kelly, Trustee

Cody is an Operations Manager at Lincoln Manufacturing. Cody joined Friends as a way to give back and help build on the future of the parks. Cody spends most of his time on the Sippo Valley Trail because it is a convenient spot for his Sunday afternoon runs.

Kayla Klement, Trustee

Kayla is an Associate Professor at Stark State College in the Digital Media and Administrative Technologies Dept. Kayla is a board member because she wants to promote and enhance the use of Stark Parks trails, parks, programs, and facilities. Kayla spends most of her time at Sippo Lake Park and Tam O’ Shanter Park because she loves the challenge these trails offer.

Donna Moore, Trustee

Donna Moore is a retired Registered Nurse. Donna brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in planning and process improvement. She spends most of her park time hiking and taking photos at Sippo Lake Park, Petros Lake Park, Fry Family Park, Quail Hollow Park, Towpath Trail, and Walborn Reservoir.

Karl Oprisch, Trustee

Karl is an Engineer at Hammontree & Associates. Karl has been involved with Friends of Stark Parks for over 12 years and served as President for the organization. Having quality park facilities and activities are important to Karl and motivate him to continue to serve on the board.

Becky Weiand, Trustee

Becky is seasoned Digital Marketing Manager. She is excited to volunteer and leverage her marketing expertise, helping to guide strategic initiatives and growth.  Becky spends most of her park time at Sippo Lake Park walking the trails with her children or friends and checking out the animals at the Wildlife Conservation Center.
