Rain, thunderstorms, and flooding can be hard on trails. Visitors are encouraged to check for updates before their visit and to follow all posted trail and parking area closing signs. For safety reasons, trails are closed to all users while trail crews are using equipment to complete repairs and maintenance. The following list reflects the most up to date trail closings and construction projects as of Aug. 15, 2026. Expect rough conditions after any flooding or storms.

Boating & Marinas

Status Alert: Marina Hours in Aug./Sept 2026

Sippo Lake Marina will be closed Weekdays for the remainder of 2026.  Open Saturdays and Sundays only and Labor Day (Sept. 7) from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Sept. 20, 2026.

Walborn Marina is open weekdays, 3 to 8 p.m. through Aug. 28, 2026.

Congressman Ralph Regula Towpath Trail

Status Alert: Coxey Bridge to Downtown Massillon Closed

Beginning Aug. 5, 2026:  The Jacob Coxey bridge from the Towpath Trail to downtown Massillon will be closed while a inspection contractor completes a review.  The closure could last several weeks.  

Hoover Trail

Status Alert: Trail Closed Between 10th St. and 7th St. (North Canton Hoover High School area)

A school construction project has closed several sections of the Hoover Trail near Hoover High School until further notice.  These include between 10th and 7th St. and south of 7th St. to Taft Ave.  A marked trail detour using neighborhood sidewalks is posted.  

Quail Hollow Park

Status Alert: 100 Years at the Hollow Fundraising Campaign

The Mountain Bike Trail now has a daily directional pattern with a sign at the Trailhead.  Bikers travel left (clockwise) on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays and travel right (counter clockwise) on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sundays. Hikers should walk in the opposite direction.

Walborn Reservoir

Status Alert: 2026-27 Hunting Seasons

Please wear bright clothing and use caution while hiking, horseback riding, or boating in the park as several hunting seasons run through the fall and winter season.  The hunting area between Marlboro Ave. and Allen Dr. that also borders Osborne Ave. is once again open for the deer archery season beginning Sept. 26, 2026 to Feb. 7, 2027.  Parking is off of Allen Dr. only.

Waterfowl gun hunting at designated areas around Deer Creek and Walborn Reservoirs during the fall and winter is by advance permit only through a lottery program ending on Sept. 7, 2026.
