Mahoning Valley Trail

Fall leaves on trail with speed limit 15mph sign on post

This 4.50 mile scenic trail offers views of the Mahoning River and the surrounding forest and spring wildflowers near Gaskill St. before crossing under Rt. 225 on a wooden boardwalk then climbing up to Rockhill Ave. where a short on-road section also using Greenbower St. connects back to the trail just before a 260-foot free span bridge crosses the spillway between Deer Creek and Berlin Reservoirs.

The Mahoning Valley Trail meets the Iron Horse Trail at Vine St. and follows city sidewalks through downtown Alliance before meeting the old railroad route under E. Broadway Ave. and heading south toward State St.  Parking is available at Deer Creek Reservoir or Gaskill St.

The Mahoning Valley Trail has been adopted by the University of Mount Union-Green Raiders, the club sponsors cleanup projects along the trail throughout the year.
