Olde Muskingum Trail
Enjoy hiking and biking on the 5.7 mile limestone surface trail or horseback riding on the wide compacted grass berm with mounting blocks. This scenic route follows along the western edge of the Tuscarawas River near the Ohio & Erie Canal and parallels an active railroad between Canal Fulton and Jackson Township. The Olde Muskingum Trail can connect to the Towpath Trail at several points providing loop routes in addition to out and back excursions.
Parking, including space for horse trailers, is available at the Cherry St. Trailhead in Canal Fulton (please enter the one way parking lot from the north at Market Ave.) and at Butterbridge Rd. The Forty Corners Trailhead on the Towpath Trail can also be used for general parking.
The Olde Muskingum Trail has been adopted by the Be the Good Advocacy Group at Stark DD, and the club sponsors cleanup projects along the trail throughout the year.
