Friends of Stark Parks Trustee
Donna Moore grew up in rural SE Ohio, having the opportunity to hike and enjoy outdoor activities with her family. After attending Massillon City Hospital School of Nursing, becoming a RN, she obtained her BS in Industrial Management and MBA from the University of Akron. She had a successful career in healthcare with most of her focus on quality and process improvements. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality. Even though retired, she maintains her RN license, currently obtaining certification in Essential Oils. She and her husband, Allan, reside in Massillon.
Always seeking adventure, she enjoys traveling, especially to Anguilla. She is a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo. A commercial licensed pilot, she flew her plane in several of the transcontinental Air Race Classics. Active in many aviation organizations, she has several recognitions including the Amelia Earhart Scholarship, honored in Forest of Friendship in Atchison, Kansas, and East Central Ohio Pilot's Association Pilot of the Year Achievement Award. Her most memorable flight was flying Jerrie Mock, the first female to solo around the world, from Florida to Ohio.
Donna brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in planning and process improvement. Her 'can do' attitude drives her to complete the project and work well with others.
She spends most of her park time hiking and taking photos at Sippo Lake Park, Petros Lake Park, Fry Family Park, Quail Hollow Park, Towpath Trail, and Walborn Reservoir. Since most of Donna's career was spent indoors, she enjoys the fresh air, the change of seasons, and watching the animals.
