Using Clean Ohio funds, the former golf course is the 15th park in our system. Stark Parks acquired the first phase of the Tam O’ Shanter Property in Dec. 2018, encompassing 94 acres. A second phase of purchase is anticipated in mid-2019. A partnership with Jackson Township Parks will allow for active recreation to be created in a 40 acre space near Fulton Dr.
The park is open daily for hiking and nature and wildlife viewing.
Public meetings to gather input about the park and facilities will be scheduled in 2019. The feedback will help create the master plan for the park that will guide the development and restoration, trail and park connections, and amenities and activities in the park. The calendar will be posted on the website, shared with local media, and posted on social media networks. We encourage you to check back frequently. Use this form to be added to the email list for park updates.
Hiking on the new green trail heading near the SE corner of the park.
