Wild Night for Wildlife

Wild Night for Wildlife

Sept. 23, 2021, 5:30 p.m.
Exploration Gateway at Sippo Lake Park

Let's have a conservation conversation about...spotted turtles!

Celebrate Stark Parks conservation efforts to protect Ohio’s threatened and endangered species. The evening will highlight the Spotted Turtle Project, the newest endeavor of staff, volunteers, and partners at the Joseph J. and Helen M. Sommer Wildlife Conservation Center. Enjoy dinner, drinks, music, and stunning views of Sippo Lake Park.
The spotted turtle population has fallen because of loss of habitat, pollution, predation and illegal poaching for the pet trade. We'll present how working in partnership with several agencies to increase the survivorship of spotted turtle hatchlings and bolster adult populations can become a reality in Stark County.
