Volunteer Spotlight: Lindy
“Stark Parks is a perfect fit for me!” That is how Lindy Anastis describes her first two years of volunteering. She has done a lot in a non-traditional two year span including summer camps, parades, garlic mustard pulls, Saturday morning parkrun volunteer in at least three different roles and as a participant, and a trail sweep for guided hikes. A participant in the Healthy Adventures program logging many miles running and hiking while exploring local trails, Lindy contrasts that with helping participants have fun and enjoy their activity and experience, especially families and children.
She has enjoyed meeting new people and getting to know them. This past June she completed the Hike-a-thon by hiking 23 miles on the longest day of the year and participating in all seven hikes. You might see her in parkrun photos, but usually she is the one taking them along the trail!
